Different Stages continues its 2007 - 2008 season with Stop Kiss by Diana Son. A funny, poignant and evocative play that explores our assumptions about love and reminds us what a profound privilege and transforming event it can be when we choose, and are chosen, to care for one another. Stop Kiss was named one of the Best Plays of 1999 by the New York Times, received the GLAAD Media Award, and also won the Berilla Kerr Award for playwriting. Son’s most recent work for the stage is Satellites, which received its World Premiere at The Public Theater in 2006. Son is currently a Supervising Producer for the hit NBC drama Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and was previously a writer for NBC’s The West Wing.
Directed by Karen Jambon (Mrs. Bob Cratchitt’s Wild Christmas Binge, Different Stages) Stop Kiss features Julie Wright (Mrs. Bob Cratchitt’s Wild Christmas Binge, Different Stages) and Jen Brown (New Jersey Book of the Dead, The Vestige Group). In supporting roles are Chris Doubek (Art, Zach Scott) and Steven Fay (The Beard of Avon, Different Stages). Completing the cast is Daniel Cardoza and Leng Wong.
