Mindy Rast |
|
For most of her life Mindy was told her name had come from her father’s infatuation with the plucky sidekick of Mork & Mindy. Maybe it was that connection to the entertainment world which led her to a life of crazy theatrics. Or maybe it was just the hair. Either way, as a little girl, Mindy would use the worlds of fantasy and make-believe to escape from the monotony of the mundane world. Mindy continued to developed her love of play through earning a BFA in acting from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State), showcasing in New York, and studying abroad with the Royal Shakespeare Company. In 2007, she became a company member at the Vortex Repertory Company and won a B. Iden Payne award for her work in Troades in 2008. Mindy has been cast in several films with local Austin production companies, and has gained a worldwide audience through her new found love of audio drama. Mindy has lived in Austin, Texas; Nairobi, Kenya; and Voorschoten, in the Netherlands. She has also performed under her full name of Elizabeth Rast. Appearances at the VORTEX |
