Mindy Rast |
|
For most of her life Mindy was told her name had come from her father’s infatuation with the plucky sidekick of Mork & Mindy. Maybe it was that connection to the entertainment world which led her to a life of crazy theatrics. Or maybe it was just the hair. Either way, as a little girl, Mindy would use the worlds of fantasy and make-believe to escape from the monotony of the mundane world. Mindy continued to developed her love of play through earning herself a Bachelors of Fine Arts in acting at Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State), showcasing in New York, and studying abroad with the Royal Shakespeare Company. In 2007, she became a company member at the Vortex Repertory Company and won a B. Iden Payne award for her work in Troades in 2008. Mindy is steadily rising in the acting world. She has been cast in several films with local Austin production companies, won a number of B. Iden Payne awards, and gained a worldwide audience through her new found love of audio drama. Mindy has lived in Austin, Texas; Nairobi, Kenya; and Voorschoten, in the Netherlands. She has also performed under her full name of Elizabeth Rast." Appearances at the VORTEX |
