Heather has been a member of the VORTEX since 1990 and has been active in the Austin theatre scene for over 15 years. She is currently seeking a PhD in Theater/Drama, Performance as Public Practice, at the University of Texas at Austin.

She frequently bases her directing work in a specific vision, and realizing that vision requires performers willing to take it as far as she needs them to. She has been nominated numerous times both for acting and directing.

Among her many theatre passions, Heather is interested in experimental exchanges between spectators and performers through either staged performances or the development of original material that addresses sentiments peculiar to a community.
