Pink Sun presented by Ethos

Ethos presents Pink Sun, the world premiere event embracing mythology and cybergnostics. Pink Sun is a dynamic musical event with cybernetic movement, extraordinary objects, pink vinyl, lush lighting, pulsing beats, and lyrical original songs. Transport to another reality to experience the conflicts of Siren and Sorcerer, Olo and King Muscle.

On Saturdays at 11pm, Ethos presents a special Dance Party with Pink Sun. Audience members have the opportunity to dance along with the music at these fun late shows. After 3 weeks of performance at The VORTEX in Austin, Texas, Ethos tours Pink Sun to San Francisco as a featured performance at the IAMINDUST Festival on Saturday, October 4. www.iamindust.com.

Chad Salvata, an award-winning Austin composer, wrote the music and lyrics for Pink Sun. He returns to The VORTEX stage as a performer for the first time since 2002. Salvata received B. Iden Payne and Critics’ Table Awards for Outstanding Original Score for The Dragonfly Princess, Vampyress, and Pythia Dust. Pink Sun also stars VORTEX award-winning performer, Melissa Vogt-Patterson (now based in New York) Vogt-Patterson received the B. Iden Payne Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical for Vampyress, and she recently starred in Beirut and The Dragonfly Princess. Ethos veterans and award-winning musicians Sergio R. Samayoa (guitar) and JoBeth Henderson (drums) compliment an already lavish recorded score by Salvata. PR Photos by Bonnie Cullum.

Ethos’ award-winning artists round out the production team. Bonnie Cullum directs. Ann Marie Gordon designs the set and props. Jason Amato designs the lighting. Kari Perkins designs the costumes. Roy Taylor engineers and designs sound for Salvata’s original score. Produced in association with VORTEX Repertory Company.
