be. This 19th-century popular writer rocked the literary world
when it was revealed that he was actually two women. Written by
Michelle Lee of Austin, TX. Directed by Paula Gilbert.
Hysteria, based on the real life of 19th-century
murderess, Lavinia Fisher. By Austinite and long-time VORTEX Associate
Aaron Brown. Directed by Wendy Goodwin. Venture back to a time
when murder, intrigue, and orgasms improved women's emotional
health.

Birth, a testimonial play about childbirth in America,
was written by Karen Brody of Takoma Park, Maryland. Directed
by Le Easter. This is the "Vagina Monologues" of Birthing.
