A fresh, thought provoking adaptation of Euripides’ Medea. Scottish playwright Liz Lochhead bites into the darkest recesses of the psyche to bring this classical tale a contemporary edge and a feminist gaze. Liz Lochhead recently won the prestigious Scottish Saltire Society’s Book of the Year Award for this new lyrical adaptation of Medea. First produced at the Tramway Theatre in Glasgow, Scotland in 2000, Lochhead’s Medea has played extensively in Britain, and has toured to India and Canada.
